11th November - Polish Independence Day!

On 11th November a group of Interns, buddies and some other members went to the Old Town on Celebrations of Polish Independence Day. We ate goose meat, tasting traditional polish alcohols on market made specially on this occasion. After that we went to eat delicious pancakes in Manekin in the centre of the Old Town. Everyone had a great time chatting and laughing. It was a good occasion to know each other better. After eating, some of us went to the cinama and some to Marta's and Ola's flat to smoke shisha.

For sure we
will have more occasions like this to integrate ;)

October 22-24 A.D. 2010. Friday, Saturday and Sunday ...

In a village with a mysterious name Lidzbark unusual things were happening. Our tribe - AIESEC Toruń UMK - met to officially announce the leaders of new groups of people who by challenging hot deserts, crossing dense jungle forests as pudding, will jointly seek an environment where everyone could strive to improve their skills.

Atmosphere during the meeting made our Chair - Khaled Masmmoudi from a distant country of Tunisia, where the heat of the sun and sands of the desert is something natural for the residents of this unique land. He sent a new people and older tribesmen in the mystical world of Africa.

In this great meeting, attended only the best. New chosen ones were assigned to the relevant projects conducted by the newly elected leaders:

OCP Natalia Gostomczyk - leader of AIESEC University with a head full of ideas. Along with Maciej Krzemień, Joanna Wyrzykowska, Katarzyna Szatkowska, Paulina Szymańska and Maja Cholewińska they will organize workshops in which the other tribes will be able to learn a foreign language civilization.


OCP Magdalena "Madziaboć" Boc - charismatic leader of Expanding Hirozons. There are rumors that she could take each strain. Even weighing 260 pounds! In this undertaking help her will people “charakterologically” matched to this project: Patrycja Król, Daria Szałwińska, Dominika Strzyżewska, Rafał Góras, Kasia Otto and Maciej Bochenek.


OCP Dagmara GodosAIESEC Charity. New blood in the tribe AIESEC Toruń. The elders decided that Dagmara will be able to lead people to achieve at the very beginning of the AIESEC Experience. With the help of Kasia Kasprowicz, Ania Kawecka, Kasia Czarny will fight valiantly to show their skills referring to future cooperation with NGOs.

OCP Malwina Rutkowska – she once again is leader of the group. This time she wants to show her strength, leading Enter your Future, in which her new confreres Jowita Jędras, Hanna Berenthal, Paulina Komoszyńska, Dorota Jankowska, Bartosz Lewandowski will summon scholars who will deliver learning about entrepreneurship.

OCP Sebastian Przybył Shamanic assistant Sebastian Przybył and new members of the tribe Mateusz Piskozub and Marta Mendalka of acting Brand Team will spread the news of the deeds of AIESEC reaching people in all territories.

OCP Andżelika Dudek – Once a project co-organized Dni Kariery, which is the largest job fairs, and internships. Now she has the opportunity to lead this project and her group of nine people, including two highest-ranking warriors: Agnieszka Bauer and Mateusz Modzelewski and seven new adepts: Lidia Traczykowska, Adam Żytkowski, Magda Bącela, Agata Dreżewska, Adam Grzonkowski, Ewa Koselak and Paweł Rzymyszkiewicz to achieve even better results.

OCP Agnieszka Zakościelna – Another, a new person in the tribe AIESEC Toruń, which the Executive Board has chosen the leader. Her vision will be organizing another great tribal assembly known as the LCC, which will be held in December. Thanks to Oskar Waśko, Olga Borowska, Karolina Murawska and Paulina Janowska this vision becomes reality.


To the AIESEC Toruń also joined a mysterious newcomer - Ibrahim, who along with Anita Jarońska will take steps to ensure arrival from distant countries providing them care and entertainment.


During this event were communicated a lot of precious knowledge, we held ritual dances, people were dressed in various costumes of the night games.

Three days of new experiences, unforgettable memories and a lot of explosive fun...

Team Days ! Yeah :)

TEAM DAYS
Oh yeah!!!
It was really amazing time which we had spent together!! Two days - one night. In the beginning , in the early morning we met in dormitory of Eunika - she had some small game for us , we spend some time on talking and than we decided to go for dinner to Chinese restaurant to eat food by chop sticks. After that we had gone for bowling. As I remember it was tough competition and at least Bartek won but still it was good fun. Tired after such a nice day we came back to Bartek apartment with an idea to watch a movie together. Unfortunately everyone instead of Eunika, Ola, and Dorota had fallen asleep at 8 pm, but we really enjoyed our Pulp Fiction and House. Next day brought us more excitement!! In the morning we went to line park in Barbarka forest. For Ola it was really terrifying but with help of rest of EB she managed this and she didn't give up. We had tried ourselves in team work. After such a wonderful time we came back to home and together cooked spaghetti. This time showed us that together we can not only work but also have really good fun!!!!

Holidays

Hey!

As you know the Executive Board (EB) was working during holidays. I bet that you're wondering what exactly we were doing...

Three months it's a lot of time!!

So...shortly:


. we did AIESEC University project (I round)
-promote courses (if you want to know more - go on facebook --> AIESEC Torun UMK)
-recruited almost 40 people, nearly 30 were attending classes
-matched 1 form and had beautiful and kind Assiya from Kazachstan in our project :)
-organized English and Russian workshops for participants
-organized Global Village at the end of workshops.







. we attended Summer Conference where we planned all activities which will happen till May 2011








. we had LC visit
- a member from Member Committee (MC, AIESEC in Poland) - Ola Sosnowka (our coach from MC) came to us and we spent very intensive 2 days of conversation, analyses and sum up our plans


. we had Autumn Conference (you can see the post before that one) ;)

And... we planned our fields - each one of us worked at our priorities, things we have to use during our term.

AutCo took place in Olsztyn -> so we hadn’t any problems with arrival. MC organized Selling track for our OCPs and Coordinators. They gained a lot of knowledge connected with sales and negotiations.

Executive Board had a lot of trainings preparing for upcoming events in our organization.

Unforgetable conference - SumCo 2010

Hey LC Torun!

How are you? As you know on our blog you can always write what's happening in your life, in your work and how much you miss our LC ;)

I would like to add some words about SumCo 2010. It was one of the best conferences I attended (it was about 30 of them).
I spend 5 days with people from whole Poland, with people I see each 2 months. With dear members from our LC (Modzel I am waiting on my fan) and with LCPs of all Local Committees in Poland. Those are people which as me lead LCs and have similar problems and sussecces as I have. It is a great opportunity to share with them, to ask them about different things and to talk about daily activities.

SumCo has 2 tracks: EB and Selling track. EB track was mainly about functional meetings so we could gather essential knowledge to manage our areas.

There was also a special moment for Executive Boards - Official Gala with LC and MC plans presentation which took place in a Palace 10 minuter from our venue. It was time when each LCP has presented priorities and plans of LC and put the number of exchanges on a special map of Poland. After this we had celebrating our goals with champagne, talks and a lot of photos :)
(I will appload pictures from that moment as soon as I get them form photographer).

During SumCo we had also some free time. You can see a photo below. It is "Bóbr" River in Zagan :)

I hope that each one of you will have the opportunity to experience such great moments as I did.

SumCo 2010!

From 14th to 18th of July 2010 our Executive Board and some people form Middle Management from our Committee were been on national conference - SumCo 2010!


There was an amazing time in mysterious town Żagań, short way off Zielona Góra.
The entire conference was held in an atmosphere of ancient times
.


The main course of this conference was Selling Track for Middle Management. We have gained a lot of knowledge in the sales, auto-presentation, servicing, promotion and a lot, lot more. I was very satisfied with the knowledge I've got. Our Selling Track song was "Selling jest na fali, sia la la, la laa!" :D

We have met and knew many people from another Local Committees. We've enjoyed the party were we have Boat Race, lots of @ dance's and the last crazy party was Global Villlage where each Committee has its own special.
Unforgettable experience, people and many hours of hard working and... yeah!
Our Committee won THE BEST DELEGATION AWARD!!!

General Assembly - 28.06.2010

On 28 of June we had in our Local Committee second General Assembly.  Meeting where ten members of our comity were gained a vote of trust and also 9 people were trying to became an official member.

In result every candidate got a vote of trust and became on OCP or coordinator. We've also got a new  official members of AIESEC Toruń UMK. Congratulations for Katarzyna Haydasz, Natalia Gostomczyk, Sebastian Przybył, Mateusz Szymczak, Agnieszka Bauer, Andżelika Dudek, Marta Franciszczak, Anita Jarońska, Magda Boć. 

Asia comment:
The General Assembly was as always a great event for our committee, obviously not excluding myself. I was getting a vote of trust for the possition of Foundraising Coordinator that day. To be honest it was not as exciting this time, as it was when I was getting it for the first time for Career Days Coordinator. I would say- constuetudo altera natura; which means someting like "habit is our second nature". I gues I got use to passing that kind of exams and after being in a committee for so long i became an old stager;)

Anita said:
In Monday (28.06.2010) our LC AIESEC Toruń UMK had General Assembly on which I've got status of regular member and vote of trust for being Diversity Coordinator. I am really excited about it. It makes me feel that all my work in AIESEC, when I was newee, was good and other AIESEC members appreciate it. I am also really motivated to work and feel huge need to develop myselfe skills and knowledge and make our LC the best LC in the world!!! ;)

Magda statement:
For me from the very beginning it was particularly tough day as I had to pass the whole test about knowledge about AIESEC. Fortunately, I managed to pass it. Then, when the meeting begun and all future OCPs and Coordinators were asked several questions I thought that it was a great opportunity for us to let the whole LC know us better and to prove that we are appropriate people in appropriate places. I was very glad when I got Vote of trust because it gave me the chance to have my own team and as a result to improve myself in the future.

Marta opinion :
This general meeting was very important for me, because I applied for the official membership and the vote of trust . We have good reason to be happy, because as middle management everyone received vote of trust. By the way- we had a nice roll call !
Now it’s our time!

Sebastian announced :
AIESEC Toruń UMK... The General Assembly... monday, 28th day of June... How could I express my feelings that day? I've got Vote of Trust! I could present my ideas for the project AIESEC University! So many people have prepared their plans for new cadency. We showed all gathered on General Assembly about what our projects are, how big is our knowledge about AIESEC, what we are going to do on during the AIESEC way... that we are the only ones who could add wings to our committee and all the people must believe in us!
We laughed, we considered ... prevailing there, the atmosphere was amazing. So much happened in those several dozen square meters of hall at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Toruń.

OCP DAYSY :D

Last weekend our future OCPs tried to get knowledge about project management. Throughout two days they were working hard to get prepared to carry out projects. We hope that the training will be helpful in practice:)

Here is Natalia's relation from the training:


The OCP Days were very useful and our KL showed us in a fun-way how to be a good Team Manager, how to be coach, what is his role in a project, Branding rules, Delivery, Selling and Market Research. It will for sure help me during my project and team-work with my OCs. In these days I understood my function in a project, how to manage people and in the same time command respect among them. The atmosphere was great, because people who attend the session proved that they have so much ideas for their projects. They also put together fun and work. Thanks! I had a great time Finally met those people I'll see often in the AIESEC Office during our project, so we can learn a lot from each other :)

General Assembly 11.06.2010


Hello guys:)

On 11 of June we had in
our Local Committee last formal meeting - General Assembly. This time it was about exoneration of the management - Middle Management and Executive Board. All members of MM and EB got this honourable title. I want to thank all of you who created Local Committee in my term, thanks to everyone who contributed to making our LC such a great LC and thanks to those who almost anonymously contributed to the success of this term. Term 2009/2010. We made great, incredible work here. I wish you all the best in your next activities and function in LC. I have for you few words from Theodore Roosevelt: “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. Train the Trainers


On the 6th of June we have participated in a special workshops for future trainers. New Executive Board and LTT were gaining new skills in order to train members of the LC Toruń UMK. Our faci were: Kinga, Eunika, and Luiza. We learned how to build a valuable training, how to manage the group and how to match training to different groups of listeners.
