Hania in Norway

Hey! :)

Time is passing by so quickly... I’m already in the middle of my CEED.
My truly life-changing experience has place in LC AIESEC NHH in Bergen.
Story started on 10 August when I arrived in Oslo. That was my first journey by plane so I was a bit nervous before – I will kill all the people who made me scared! :) My fear was unnecessary because it turned that I do like flying. I spent in Oslo 2 days staying at the flat of MCP and MC VP of AIESEC in Norway! I was sightseeing this beautiful capital, went to Holmenkollen – the ski jumping, the palace of Norwegian monarchy, Vigelandsparken – famous statues park and then on 12 August I flight to Bergen. And then my CEED real started...

My job focus on recruitment – I help AIESEC NHH to promote recrutation at the university and NHH – business school (kind of SGH ;) ). That includes also stand promotion and info meetings. Besides this I take part in LCM and raising meetings. What’s more my role is just to share my experience, my knowledge and point of view. Tell how works AIESEC in Poland and get to know how works AIESEC in Norway. And I must admit that difference is huge. This challenge much my AIESEC worldview. Curious about difference? Besides common values, goals, identity, wonderful EB ;) similar numeric results, different is... everything :)

LC AIESEC NHH
Number of members come to 50.
Exchange is 24 (15 EP, 9 TN).
Leadership experience - 14.
LC AIESEC NHH is the best LC in Norway (among 5 others).

They work in different student, university and business environment. They have different needs and problems to solve. All of this makes that they work different – has different structure, style of working and culture. Possibility to work in such different environment widen my horizons and develop me as an aiesecer. It’s the lesson for me to accept the differences and try to understand them. It gives me more humility, holistic view and enable me to look at LC Toruń UMK from distance.

But the most important is company :). I met a lot of fantastic people that make my stay here unforgettable experience. I will introduce to you a few of them, the closest to me, EB members of AIESEC NHH:

Jan Robert Børhaug

Siri Sørgard

Jon Martin Valhaugstrand

Samina Nazir

Eyvind Pedersen

At most of them I was living during my stay in Bergen. They are so kind and friendly taking care of me, treat like a little egg ;) With Siri I went to the cabin at the fjords. We spent there wonderful day driving a motorboat, fishing makrelas, sunbathing and admiring beauty of the Norwegian nature. I went shopping with Samina who is shopping maniac ;). I was hiking with Jan Robert. I attended crazy pre-parties at Eyvind and was hugged by drunk Linn Therese :)

Although there are still some days left I already know that I will miss them and Bergen so much..

I fell in love with Norway. With the calmness of this place. Here is so quiet and peaceful. Beauty of the nature takes breath away. People like walking and drink tea from big mugs.Perfect place to live and grow up children :)

High time for summing up.
This CEED overcame my expectations. I received so much, I lived so much, I visited places I was always dreaming about, I met wonderful people.
I wish you the same and truly recommend you CEED experience :)

Warm hugs still from my beloved Bergen,

Hania

Partnership with China

We have spent marvelous day yesterday. I took Jackson – LCP of LC XJTU in China from Marki to Torun. For the last time we were negotiating exchange numbers in the train and we were learning languages. You can see below at the movie that now I am the almost fluent Chinese speaker and Jackson is almost fluent Polish speaker :) It was great when we met with Kasia and Tucan in front of Nicolaus Copernicus monument and Jackson was speaking polish to them. I will never forget their surprised faces. Then we were in very romantic place – Roza i Zen Café where we were drinking coffee and beers. Then Edwina joined us and we went to our dorm where we where cooking real Chinese diner. It was so delicious. We had 5 marvelous dishes. After diner we were signing our partnership document and of course celebrating this moment with polish vodka. It was so happy moment for all of us. Tucan said on last general assembly that this partnership document is like my baby. Now I can say that my baby finally is born and really happy and proud mother ! After few shots we went to the city center. We were making pictures and Jackson has taught us how to make a heart from small sheet of paper. Maybe now they are not good but we will practice origami for sure. It was marvelous and so motivational day. Enjoy movies and pics :)

Last Saturday - Bydgoszcz City

It wasn't sunny day but very very nice and full of laugh and
fun. Why???Because of our lovely trainees! :) Our small group (consist
of Edwina, Carolina, Heather, Roman, Tucan, Zielak and me) spent few
hoursin Bydgoszcz on sightseeing and just celebrating the day. We
had special occasion - there was Roman and Tucan birthday! Near the
opera, girls made some performance with Happy birthday song ;) Then we
moved on Barka and this warm place was perfect for chatting :) Finally
we visit Baalbek cause there is no better pleasure than eating with friends :D

Enjoy the pics!

Summer Presidents Meeting

In Torun, second time in a row, took place Summer Presidents Meeting.

LCPs from all LCs from Poland came into the city of Nicolaus Copernicus. aha...and of course our beloved guests from Member Committee. so it was some kind of small conference for about 30 people.

The aim of this was to get more knowledge about leading a committee, managing EBs, find new solutions for developing particular areas etc. Of course, as well as for knowledge LCPs have met to spend some nice time together, to knwo each other better:)

All was placed in Bielany. Accomodation in dormitory no.9, sessions run on WNEiZ.

As an OCP of this conference(I alwayes wanted to be OCP:P) i have to thank OC...my beloved EB. Preparing breakfast at 8 am after all-night party, sleeping for 1 hour and then with big smile giving food to the participants...it was amazing!

As on every PM, we had also General Assembly...many motions were discussed, like penalty points, closing committies(fortunately, no LC was closed...we can still say - United for Success!)...the most important for us is that...Jakub "Zielak" Zielinski was voted as a member of Komisja Rewizyjna AIESEC Polska. Now, we have 3 members on national level...congratulations for Zielak.

Hours spent on sessions(about Leadership, exchange, using global opportunities, cooperation with other LCs in Poland and abroad etc.), small talks, some time(:D) on parties(Kredens, Piwnica Artystyczna, Kafe Fajka, barka, rooms in dormitory...as U can see, we were some kind of travellers at nights) and only few hours of sleeping...during 3 days many things happened and after these days many things will be implemented...so i can say that both in logistic and content ways Summer PM was a success...

now we have to perform to make our term a Big Success...and become legendary...
